Throughout his life David has been an inspiration to the community. He has raised thousands for charity through sponsored runs, and his fundraising efforts were recognised nationally when he won an award sponsored by Woolworths Group, presented in a ceremony in London by Frank Bruno and Judith Chalmers. At the age of 77 he still regularly runs, although no longer competitively, recently completing half marathons and a few 10k's.

Colin’s son Craig was tragically killed three years ago. Since then he has thrown himself into charity work, arranging three marathons from Ibrox to Kilwinning, three football tournaments and plenty of raffles for Craig’s family and friends. This year over 200 people took part in these events, and managed to raise over £35,000 for various charities, donated in memory of Craig.

In the last 30 years, Janet has raised a staggering £60,000 for charity; £18,000 went to the Gillian Saltire Appeal, which provides respite for cancer sufferers in Largs; £15,000 was raised for Helter-Skelter, a teenage café, and the rest (over £17,000) provide the local Boys Brigade with a mini-bus. The list of Janet’s charitable achievements is endless.

Jim lost his leg following a horrific car accident at the age of 67, but immediately refused to let it affect him. First off, it never stopped him from continue working and to lead an active life; then, he went and joined a Scottish disabled golf association to continue his love for golf. He’s met loads of new people, and now drives other members to golf events.
