At the age of 43, Corrine’s life changed forever. A keen runner and fundraiser for local charities, Corrine has completed a number of challenges around the world including the New York marathon, cycling the Great Wall of China and trekking the Himalayas. In June last year, Corrine was admitted to hospital with suspected pneumonia. While in hospital Corrine contracted septicaemia, suffered total organ failure and was given a 5% chance of survival by the specialists looking after her.

Russell has pulled the small village of Langbank closer together by organising the last three village gala days, re-introducing the event to the community calendar after it not taking place for ten years. Further to this, Russell volunteers his time to work on the Community Council and he has project managed the building and funding of a new village Football field.

Lochwinnoch man John Delaney has overcome great personal tragedy to dedicate himself to raising money for the Teenage Cancer Trust. In 2003, John tragically lost his son to cancer. Since then he has taken on a series of extreme challenges to raise over £400,000 for Teenage Cancer Trust. He has walked run and cycled the length of Britain, scaled mountains and completed marathons. His dedication has won the support of the entire village, which has adopted the charity as its own.
