Blue Block Studio

Visual Arts

Blue Block Studio is an interactive pop up space for children aged 4 and under and their parents and carers to take part in and enjoy creative play and storytelling.

Led by artist Katy Wilson and produced by Starcatchers, a pioneering organisation which specialises in performances and creativity for babies, toddlers and young children, Blue Block Studio will visit communities across Scotland from May 2014.

Artist led creative play sessions will encourage parents and babies to explore, move and interact with large, colourful geometric shapes, animations, instruments, lighting and sounds in the space.

Accompanying the creative play space is a storytelling performance for 2-4 years olds inspired by Who's Calling written by Kenyan author Charity Waciuma.

This storytelling performances will be presented in nurseries, libraries and other community spaces as well as within the Blue Block Studio pop up space.
