Murdoch Leads The Way To Gold

Team Scotland’s Ross Murdoch and Michael Jamieson both claimed Gold and Silver respectively in the Men’s 200m Breaststroke at Tollcross International Swimming Centre.

Murdoch from Stirling became the Commonwealth Champion after a hard fought battle with Jamieson. Murdoch swam one of the fastest races this year to defy his compatriot and with a time of 2:07.30 is a new British and Commonwealth Games record.

Jamieson a former Olympic and Commonwealth Silver medallist came second with a time of 2:08:40. Three Scots competed in the 200m Breaststroke but Andrew Willis claimed the Bronze to halt a Scottish hat-trick of medals with a time of 2:09:87.
