Scotland’s world-renowned visual arts are celebrated in an unprecedented series of exhibitions, screenings, and installations.

Here are just a few of the highlights:

The Common Guild presents a newly commissioned film about Glasgow by renowned international artist Phil Collins, which will be screened at an outdoor event in Glasgow’s Queen’s Park in July 2014.

GENERATION will trace the remarkable development of contemporary art in Scotland over the last 25 years, and offer unique opportunities to enjoy work by some of the most engaging and imaginative artists working in Scotland. It will include major exhibitions of work at the National Galleries of Scotland in Edinburgh, and Tramway and Gallery of Modern Art (GoMA) in Glasgow. An Associates programme will see a diverse and exciting range of work shown in a wide array of venues, from Orkney, to the Western Isles, to the Scottish Borders.

Scotland Can Make It presents unique souvenirs specially commissioned to respond to Scotland hosting the XX Commonwealth Games, designed by leading Scottish artists and designers and produced by Scottish manufacturers. A public exhibition, film, talks and events will be appearing as part of Culture 2014 and Festival 2014.
