At the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games, we’re making sure that getting to events and exploring the city of Glasgow will be a positive experience for everyone. Whether you’re walking, cycling or taking public transport, we have improved our facilities to make getting around as quick and simple as possible.
Due to all the excitement and visitors the Games will bring, Glasgow’s transport networks will be busier than usual. To minimise delays and disruption to your journey at Games Time, it’s better to plan and book ahead.
Here are some helpful things to remember as you make travel plans for the Commonwealth Games:
> As soon as you receive your tickets for your event we advise you to start planning your journey.
>Don’t forget there is no general parking for ticketed spectators. Some rail services are expected to be very busy. Pre-bookable park and ride is available for a number of venues and you are strongly advised to book now to avoid disappointment.
>If you are travelling from further afield then longer distance coach services are available here.
>There will be no general parking spaces at any of the venues at Glasgow 2014, with the exception of limited spaces for Blue Badge holders who must book in advance. Further details of all accessible transport services are available here.”
> Glasgow is a compact city and the best way to get to your venue is by walking, cycling or public transport.
> Spectators are entitled to use local public transport (trains, buses and subway) on the day when their event ticket is valid by showing it on request. Further details are available here.
