The Bridge is a theatrical performance which explores a family’s memories, from the present day to pre-Independence Kerala, India.
Fusing storytelling, sound design and visual projections, The Bridge traces back to the story of a young writer, and how he defies convention to achieve his dreams. It reflects on identity, considers a sense of belonging and explores how our histories are told.
Written and co-directed by Annie George, The Bridge is part of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and the Just Festival at St John’s Cathedral from 1–25 August 2014 (20.30–21.30).
The event is included on the Glasgow 2014 Cultural Programme and tickets can be purchased from the Edinburgh Festival Fringe website.
Annie George is a writer, director, producer, performer and award-winning filmmaker. Her critically acclaimed plays have been performed at the likes of the Traverse Theatre Edinburgh, the Citizens Theatre Glasgow, The Arches, the Contact Theatre Manchester, the Oral House Theatre London, the Scottish Parliament and the Leith Festival.
