Procurement

Delivering a world-class event like Glasgow 2014 requires the procurement of goods, works and services from an enormous range of businesses.

Glasgow 2014 Ltd, the Organising Committee of the Glasgow Commonwealth Games, is responsible for this procurement. It will amount to hundreds of direct contracts and thousands of indirect sub-contracts for provisions ranging from sports equipment to creative design, catering to temporary venue infrastructure.

The procurement programme for the Games is already well under way, but there is still time to become involved, as the majority of contracts will be awarded throughout 2012 and 2013.

Business Portal for Games opportunities

Glasgow 2014 has selected the Glasgow Business Portal, operated by Glasgow City Council, as the advertising platform for its current and future competitive tender opportunities. Registration on the Portal is free and takes only a few moments to complete. Glasgow 2014 needs the support of businesses of all types and sizes, so register now to find out more and get involved.

Larger opportunities will also be advertised on the Public Contracts Scotland website, as well as the Official Journal of the European Union.

Winning Business

Glasgow 2014 operates a fair and transparent procurement process which awards business on the basis of best overall value. An explanation of how we measure value is included in every tender we publish, covering the information which we require potential suppliers to complete, and scoring across a range of quality and cost factors to determine the winning bid. We know that completing tenders takes time and effort, and we try to make our tendering process as simple and straightforward as we can.
