Glasgow 2014 Closing Ceremony

Hampden Park the centre of Gold medal Athletics success will be transformed at 21:00 into a celebration of culture and song. Over 2,000 extra-ordinary volunteer performers will line up alongside global superstar Kylie Minogue and an array of iconic Scottish talents.

Just 18 hours after the conclusion of heart-racing Track and Field competition, the sporting centre piece will bring the curtain down on the biggest cultural and sporting event that Scotland has ever seen.

The Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games has been described as the best ever Games and this send-off is a fitting tribute, featuring over 160 tonnes of staging, over 3000 props, 454 flags and the promise of one unmissable night.

Iconic pop super star Kylie will be joined by Scottish icon Lulu who entertained the crowds at Glasgow Green Opening Ceremony party.

Deacon Blue – one of Scotland’s most famous and successful bands with six million album sales, 12 UK top forty singles and two number 1 albums – will also take to the stage.

One of Scotland’s finest singer songwriters Dougie Maclean will also be appearing. He has received an OBE and a Lifetime Achievement Award from BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards.

The Ceremony will be broadcast live by the BBC and to television viewers of an estimated 1 billion across 71 Commonwealth nations and territories.
