Back in March we launched a competition looking for 14 bloggers to become part of Team14, who would be at the heart of the action telling the Games story through their blogs. The competition had a fantastic response, with nearly 200 keen bloggers wanting to be part of the Games.
We notified the successful members of Team14 last month, and already the bloggers have been busy producing fantastic content, from talking about the latest Games news, to attending buzzing Culture 2014 events.
Stephen from ‘How Many Miles?’ is a member of Team14, an Active Travel Champion and spokesman for Sustrans and Paths For All. To celebrate national Bike Week (and one of his rare days off!) Stephen headed to Pollok Park Cycle Fair where he had a shaky ride on a tandem bike and found out more about the Glasgow City Council’s Nextbike hire scheme. Read Stephen’s full blog post here.
On 14 June the Queen’s Baton returned to Scotland, and Team14 blogger Paula McGuire from ‘Paula must try harder’ was there to greet it in Edinburgh! Paula managed to get a rare insight into the relay by interviewing her friend and batonbearer Sarah Mather, who proudly carried the baton among the residents of her hometown. Read Paula’s full interview here.
Lauren from ‘Glasgow Theatre Blog’ and Lis from ‘Last Year’s Girl’ both blogged about the exciting launch of the Festival 2014 programme. Running from 19 July–3 August, Festival 2014 will fill Glasgow with exciting entertainment and culture from Scotland and around the world with over 1,000 performances in over 100 venues throughout the city.
You can follow #Team14 on Twitter for all their latest updates and blogs. Some interesting posts to look out for include exciting activity at the Athletes’ Village, and posts from the Athletics Grand Prix at Hampden from 11–12 July!
