• The Games will be held over 11 days, with the opening ceremony on 23rd July 2014, and the last day of competition and Closing Ceremony on August 3rd 2014.

• The 17 sports chosen for the Glasgow 2014 Games are:

• There are likely to be between 6000 and 6500 athletes and officials attending the Games should they be held in Glasgow in 2014
