
Accessible Transport
In addition to taxis and local buses, additional games-specific accessible transport services will be provided at each venue. These are available on a first-come, first-served basis and must be pre-booked. The detail of the services available for each venue is detailed below.
Our Spectator Services Accessibility team will be on hand to assist spectators with mobility requirements once they reach the venue.
How to book
Please call the freephone Accessible Transport booking line on 0800 952 0110 or textphone on (18001) 0800 952 0109 to book the appropriate service for your venue. Spaces are limited at each location, so please book early to avoid disappointment. When phoning to book any of these services please make sure you have to hand your Glasgow 2014 customer reference number (found on your tickets or email correspondence), wheelchair/Easy Access ticket number, along with details of the venue name, date and session you’re visiting.
Please note wheelchair/Blue Badge parking bookings are only valid for the specified session that the spectator ticket relates to. Failure to vacate the car park within your allocated parking slot inhibits other spectators with accessible needs from accessing the venue. Any vehicle left after the specified booking time may be removed with fees incurred.
Parking for wheelchair/Easy Access ticket holders and Blue Badge holders is limited to cars. If you have a larger vehicle that cannot be accommodated within a standard Blue Badge parking space, please contact the accessible transport booking line for advice.
Wheelchair Users
If you are a wheelchair user, please ensure that you have booked assistance for any ScotRail train services you will be using (and don’t forget the return journey). The Assisted Travel Helpline number is 0800 912 2901.
Mobility Scooters
Light mobility scooters can be transported on Accessible Shuttles; however passengers must be able to transfer from the scooter to a seat for the journey. The Scooter must also accord with the dimensions and weight below:
– Maximum length 104cm (41”)
– Maximum width 56cm (22”)
– Maximum combined weight of user and scooter (300kg – approximately 660 pounds)
– Maximum turning radius 99cm (39”)

Barry Buddon Shooting Centre

Taxis
Wheelchair and easy access ticket holders arriving by taxi are advised to pre-book. Accessible taxis should drop at the Black Slab Car Park, Links Parade, Carnoustie, where a connecting shuttle will take those with accessibility requirements to the venues. This should be pre-booked as above.
Cathkin Braes Mountain Bike Trails

Accessible taxis must be pre-booked and should use the taxi rank on Myrtle View Road (approximately 300 metres from venue). There is a second taxi rank for Hampden Park on Aikenhead Road, south of Curling Crescent; this is further from the venue.
