The Commonwealth Games Village
The Games Village is unique in that it has been designed for athletes by athletes. It is where the 6,500 athletes and officials will live during the Games. It promises to be a hive of activity, excitement and celebration that will epitomise the friendly spirit of the Games.
The Games Village is to be built at Dalmarnock in the East End of Glasgow. This massive 35 hectare site will be twice the size of the village at the Melbourne Games. As well as providing the athletes with somewhere to live during the competition, there will be places to train and relax. When the Games are over, a new community will be born on the banks of the River Clyde living in these new two and three-bedroom homes.
