Tollcross International
Aquatics Centre

The Commonwealth Games swimming medals are always hotly contested by world-class swimmers. It will be no different in Glasgow, where the Tollcross International Aquatic Centre with its existing 50-metre pool will be the centre of the action. The pool and the facilities are being extensively refurbished, and a second six-lane 50-metre pool will be added as a warm-up area. Although some work will be undertaken for the duration of the Games only, the addition of a new pool will enhance Tollcross’s reputation and make it a magnet for other major international swimming events. It will also provide a permanent training facility for schools and elite athletes in the years ahead.
